My Latest Shoe Purchases: Jeffrey Campbells and more!

In the past 8 or so months I've invested in some quality shoes that I am really impressed with so I figured I would share my purchases with you and review them too. In heels I usually wear a size 6.5 because I like them snug. I find that going for a smaller size in heels minimizes blisters, maximizes comfort, and makes heels easier to walk in because I'm not sliding around in them. For flats and sneakers I typically wear a size 7, especially in closed toed shoes so my toes have room. These are my standard sizes for shoes so you have something to compare the shoes below to in case you are interested or want an idea of sizing for these brands.

First, I am entirely in love with these booties from Jeffrey Campbell. I bought the Cromwell Bootie online from Revolve over the summer and have been wearing them consistently ever since. These boots work in every season because they are black leather which is perfect for winter, but the cutout sides show a bit of skin if you choose to wear them without socks and they look really cute with boho dresses and skirts too. Size 6.5 is pretty standard for me in Jeffrey Campbells regardless of heel height and there is no difference here. I have not tried wearing them with socks yet and I'm not sure I plan to. They are so comfortable that I feel no need to wear socks and I love the little peak of skin the cutout gives. These shoes are sold all over the internet in several colors both in leather and in suede. They are amazing so definitely shop around to find the best style, color, and price for you! Also, take a peak at the Jeffrey Campbell Orwell booties that are very similar but without the western touch of the metal details on the toes and heels. For a cheaper option, check out the Nerro Cutout Boot by Lipstik in black and brown.

Now these next shoes I have actually already posted about. Back in May I was drooling over these shoes practically every day online. You can check out that post here and at the time I wasn't sure if I would take the plunge and buy them yet. I had no where to wear them but I just thought they were so dainty and feminine. I DID take the plunge and at first purchased a size 6.5 of the Jeffrey Campbell Meryl Floral Heel from Revolve. They were just as gorgeous as I had imagined and really nice quality but they were slightly large so I ordered a size 6 to compare them side by side. The size 6 fit much much better so I went with this size in the shoe. To be honest, after wearing them I feel that the size 6 is still slightly large on me but that's the smallest size they come in otherwise maybe a 5.5 would have been my best bet. Unfortunately, I would say these are the least comfortable Jeffrey Campbells I own. Don't get me wrong, they are still fairly comfortable compared to other brands and cheaper heels but they didn't live up to my standard of Jeffrey Campbell heels. I think it may be how thin and dainty they are but I definitely don't regret this purchase. At the time that I purchased these shoes I was only able to find them online at Revolve, but now they also have them on the Jeffrey Campbell website in black and pale blue. I'm really in love with the blue color and maybe if I hadn't already bought the pink I would be buying those.

These Jeffrey Campbell Cors Booties are to die for. They're very on trend this year with the lace-up front and again, this is a shoe that works great for many seasons from Spring through Fall. I originally purchased these in the taupe color (size 6.5) and fell in love. The suede is so soft, the laces are sturdy, and the wood heels are a beautiful touch. I loved them so much I ordered them in black too. Unfortunately, these did not match the quality of the taupe shoes. For some reason, the suede was much rougher and the heels were not wood but instead a textured material that looked like a stiff rubber to me. I purchased both pairs online from Nordstrom so I do believe they were authentic I think this is just an sad characteristic of the black shoes that made them not worth the $165 for me. These shoes are also for sale on the Jeffrey Campbell website. They are in stock in taupe, black, pink, mustard, and laser-cut.

I tend to wear heels that are 5+ inches and they're not always reasonable for wearing to work or day events. I've been wanting a pair of Dolce Vita espadrille wedges which have a heel height of 3.5/4 inches for a while and when I saw the Nessah wedge on sale at Swell for only $89.97 I had to get them. I believe I got an extra 30% off with a discount code and I ended up paying $63.73 for the shoes. I highly suggest signing up for promotional emails from Swell if you like their clothes. They regularly have sales which will give you a great discount off of clothes that are already on sale. To review the shoes, I found that the strap across the toes was a bit narrow for my wide feet but I am keeping them anyways because they fit perfectly in every other way and are great quality and extremely comfortable. They are real leather so I am hoping this strap stretches out a bit as I begin wearing them in the Spring. I got size 6.5 and I would say they run true to size.

Most recently, I purchased these two pairs of heels from Nasty Gal while they had an extra 30% off sale items. Hopefully they arrive in the next week or so and I will be able to review them for you! They are the Jeffrey Campbell Gauntlet Patent Leather Bootie and the Celeste Fringe Bootie by Lust for Life.

Covet of the Day: Maasai Beaded Leather Sandal by Brother Vellies

I found these sandals on Nasty Gal today and I want to start out by making it clear that I will not be purchasing these $1250 sandals... They are the Maasai Beaded Leather Sandal by Brother Vellies and they embody everything I live for: beading, strappy-ness, and black leather. As gorgeous as they are, I don't know how someone could possibly wear these without destroying the feathers. They are nice to look at though!! Check them out below.

I hope you liked these beautiful pieces of artwork. Check back soon for my next covet of the week! I promise it will be something you can actually buy and wear ;)

I am in love with off the shoulder tops right now and I know I am not the only one! I've been searching for the perfect one online and I've come across plenty. But last night I found some really cute ones that are also really cheap! Below are the ones I purchased from a company I have never used before called Pylo.

In addition I bought this top, which while it's not technically an off the shoulder top it is a tube top and super cute so...

I also ordered this one by Faithfull the Brand from Nasty Gal

These aren't the only adorable and affordable off the shoulder tops I've come across while online shopping. Here are some more of my favorites:

Covet of the Day: The Jetset Diaries Carnivale Maxi Dress

THIS. DRESS. IS. EVERYTHING. I have recently discovered The Jetset Diaries and fallen in love! They have some great pieces (I have another covet coming soon *wink wink*) and the Carnivale Maxi is one of my favorites. I love the tropical colors it comes in but my favorite part has to be the delicate strap detail. The way it lays across the lower back is gorgeous and unique.

Here it is in Mandarin from Revolve. This is my favorite color because of how gorgeous it looks with her skin tone.

You can also get it in this color from Singer22. Right now they are having a 20% off sale with code JUNE2015. Check it out!

Nasty Gal carries it in this really pretty blue. I think this color is much more wearable but not as dramatic or tropical.

And lastly, it comes in a black and white print from Swell. I much prefer the solid colors to this print because I think the business of the print draws the eye away from the beautiful strap detailing of the dress and the construction is my favorite part.

My only complaint is this dress is 100% Rayon. While rayon is very lightweight and soft, I hate the maintenance because sometimes the recommended care is to hand wash and other times it is to dry clean. Whenever I hand wash rayon the fabric seems to tighten and shrink slightly, changing the fit of the garment. So if I were to purchase this I would probably dry clean it.

I hope you liked this post. I love how each color/print gives the dress a very different feel. And it's so simple yet dramatic, I think the design is just beautiful.
