I Walk With a Vengeance

A really quick outfit post from a random night out at school. I wore one of my favorite tank tops from Akira, my American Apparel disco pants, and Aldo combat boots. At the end of the night, right before we got ready for bed, I had my roommate randomly snap this picture of me in her doorway. Ignoring my weird facial expression, I kind of like the spontaneity of this picture.

I'm also adding this song to the post to add to your viewing experience:

Hope you enjoyed my weirdness!

The Mountains Are Calling

I am so behind in my blog posts. I'm gonna attempt to catch up now, wish me luck! This outfit is from  a night out at school in early May. I am in love with this skirt and the landscape print in green, orange, and yellow hues. It makes me want to go back to the mountains! I wore it with my favorite black crop top from boohoo that I wear with everything. The body chain is from Nasty Gal and can be found here. I love the look of a body chain with a simple outfit. They're so much edgier than necklaces and can be found in so many fun varieties! This particular one looks like bones or spine vertebrates if you look closely, and I love the detail. The shoes are the Xfoliate wedges by Steve Madden. These are the most comfortable six inch heels I have ever worn. Get ready to see them in upcoming blog posts!

I had to throw in my typical broken arm picture. I think this is becoming my signature pose? Idk but I still like it!!

My roommate told me I was being too serious and I needed to take a funny picture. This was the result haha

Just a Memory

This was an outfit from some late fall weather (why is it still cold here?) and I thought I would share it. I am in loooove with this Free People lace and crochet top (here in white) that I bought at Lord & Taylor. I paired it with some oldies from my closet: a crop cargo jacket from Akira, Mavi jeans, Lucky brand stamped belt, and Aldo moccasins. Because the top is so sheer I wore it with a white bandeau underneath, but a lacey bralette would look so cute!

Also, I've been noticing lately that my music and outfit choices reflect my mood of the day/ week, so why not put a song into my outfit posts so you can listen while you check out my outfit and feel the mood? Here is the song for this post, Wanted by Jessie James, super sassy and girly with a slight badass independent vibe and southern twang.

I hope you enjoyed this post and the song I put with it. Let me know if you want more music outfit posts in the comments below!

Refractions

Wow I've been gone way too long, sorry guys! I'm going to try to start blogging regularly again. Hopefully I can do it! So last night I went out with a couple friends and decided to give a new pair of six inch heels a try. Maybe not the best idea since I have my dance show tomorrow and could possibly have broken an ankle but that's the risk I take for shoes! I bought these Steve Madden wedges for when I go to Vegas in a month and a half and was worried that they were too high. Luckily last night went well and they were surprisingly comfy! Just a little wobbly but I think I'll get used to them. My top and scuba skater skirt are both from Nasty Gal, and like always I forgot to put on accessories. Oops.

If you're looking for a good, high-quality skater skirt this one is affordable and comes in so many colors! I think I'm gonna pick up some more myself. Check them out here.

OOPS

Well, that didn't quite go as planned... For the time being I changed the name of this blog back to strange appeals. Everything got really messed up with my followers and stats when I changed the name so I claimed the sequins and ink url and maybe I'll figure out a better way to change again it in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience!!

Cop My Cart: Vol. 3

Here's another Cop My Cart featuring some of the crazy amazing things I want from Nasty Gal's new arrivals. Enjoy!

I love the geometric shape of the sleeves and the cute little sunflower pattern!

Sunstruck Swim Cover Up by Motel - $50
If I wanted to drop fifty bucks on a cover up this would be in my closet right now. It also comes in black, but i prefer white for the warm weather.

Heatwave Neoprene Bikini by Shakuhachi
Top and Bottom - each $92
Shakuhachi is a personal favorite (I'll have an entire Shakuhachi post out soon) and I love this sporty yet sexy bikini.

Dark Times Dress by Nasty Gal - $128
I love this simple black made more interesting through texture and cutouts. I can imagine myself wearing this for so many different occasions.

Bonnie Top by Motel - $50
I love this striped crop top, especially with a cute black bra underneath. It never hurts to show off a modest little peak of bra on a night out ;)

I hope you enjoyed my Nasty Gal picks for the week! These pieces would be the perfect summer staples in any wardrobe. Check out Nasty Gal and their brand new inventory to update your closet before the warm weather hits!
