Leo's Playlist

I currently have a lot of ideas for fashion posts all jumbled around in my head but for the time being enjoy a music post! Just some random songs I've bee enjoying this week:

Today's favorite is Talk Dirty feat 2 Chainz by Jason Derulo. I think the song is supposed to sound jazzy and swanky, but it also has a little Bollywood sound to me, like a snake charmer. It's pretty cool and watching Jason Derulo dance isn't too bad either ;)
(Caution: the song gets pretty dirty when 2 Chainz raps and this isn't the clean version)

This song was free on iTunes this past week (and still currently is) and has been stuck in my head since I got it. It's The Mother We Share by CHVRCHES

I've been obsessed with Lorde lately and Bravado has been my favorite song. I like the slow parts of the song, like the beginning, and then the beat comes in and gives the song a totally different feel.

Stumbled upon this song randomly after looking at model Cailin Russo's instagram and learning she also sings. She is featured on this song called Say You Want Me by Super Groupie.

I've always loved I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston but lately it's my ultimate feel good song. I feel like I'm in the 80s and just want to put on a jean jacket and some leg warmers and go dancing down the street like I'm in a music video. Fortunately I am able to resist the urge...

Look in the tabloids and Miley Cyrus is all you hear about. Girl knows how to make headlines, whether you think that's a good thing or not. I especially like the DJ Scooter Twerk Remix feat. Jay-Z of We Can't Stop. Definitely the best song to (attempt to) twerk to haha

I covered a few genres with these six songs, so hopefully you liked at least one of them. Let me know in the comments which is your favorite and if you'd like more music posts in the future!

Nasty Gal Shoe Cult Vol. 2

Nasty Gal came out with new additions to their Shoe Cult line recently and there are some really great pieces. Many of the new shoes are considerably more expensive than those of the first wave, averaging around $100 per pair. Hopefully these price increases reflect an improvement in quality and materials, as these shoes are even more trendy and fashionable! See my favorites from NastyGal.com below:

The Mischief Bootie in Black and Taupe

Similar shape to the Mischief Bootie, the Heat Rises Bootie has an open toe and exposed zippers in the front and back. I personally prefer these to the mischief as they transition between seasons well and I like the open toe.

The Strut Cutout Chelsea Boot has a beautiful clear vinyl panel across the front of the foot/ankle. I love the menswear-inspired toe bed, featuring a pointier toe. These seem really comfortable and modern; definitely a shoe I'd like to get my hands on.

PSST! These are also a more affordable version of the Alexander Wang Nadine Ankle Boot shown below from Nordstrom's
Don't tell, but I actually prefer Nasty Gal's version... sorry Alexander Wang!

While faux wedge sneakers were very in last season, I am obsessed with the punchy floral neon print of the Blazing Bloom Sneaker. And let's be honest, a cute sneaker never goes out of style, right?

If you're looking for a simple, chic flat, here it is. The Hot Metal Flat in White or Black is the ideal staple in any wardrobe. I love the cute little asymmetrical cap toe!

The Shadow Play Harness Boot is effortless and cool. This shade of slate matches so much and can add edge to any outfit. How much better could it get?

I hope you liked my updated picks from Shoe Cult collection by Nasty Gal. Props to Nasty Gal for their on-point designs, keep 'em coming!

Nasty Gal Shoe Cult Review

I think it's about time I wrote a review on the two pairs of Nasty Gal Shoe Cult shoes I purchased in May. See the original post on the collection here. I am not affiliated with the company, these are just two pairs of shoes that I decided to purchase because I thought they were cute and would enhance my wardrobe. I purchased the Zealand Sandal in black, pictured below:

The sandals are made from synthetic leather, so the straps around the toes are not as soft as I would like and they do take a while to break in. The soles are very comfortable and flexible. I also like the ankle strap. The gold details are adorable and do not feel heavy. They are also very adjustable. I purchased these sandals in a size 7 (my normal size) and they fit perfectly. My only real concern is the metal detail on the back of the heel. They tend to hit the ground and make a slight clicking noise which doesn't bother me, but when this happens they metal gets scraped along the bottom edge. It is not very noticeable unless you look closely. It may just be the way I walk, although I don't believe I drag my feet that much. So maybe this doesn't happen to everyone but it does for me. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I feel this is a great shoe to wear casually, but it can also be dressed up and worn with a cute dress. These shoes can still be purchased. If you click the link above, it will take you to the site.

The second pair of shoes I purchased was the Faye Platform Pump, also in black:

These shoes are also made from synthetic materials, but since they are a suede like material they are much softer. I am happier with the quality of materials of this shoe than I am with the Zealand sandal. I adore the ankle straps and pointed toe of these heels. They are very reminiscent of L.A.M.B heels and Jeffrey Campbells at a much more affordable price. The ankle straps fasten with velcro which makes them very easy to take on and off, which I like a lot. The unusual thing about these heels is that the sole is very flexible, which isn't a common feature in heels. It makes them very comfortable but slightly more difficult to walk in. I really don't see this as a problem though, just something which takes getting used to. I purchased these shoes in a size 6.5. I usually but heels in a 6.5 or 7 but because these have a pointed toe I went with the 6.5 and they fit perfectly. The toe leaves plenty of room. I don't feel as though my toes are being squished while the shoes fit snugly enough that they aren't hard to walk in. These shoes are no longer available at Nasty Gal but they still carry similar styles. I really like these shoes and they are perfect for the affordable price!

I hope this post helped all the Nasty Gals out there looking to buy from the Shoe Cult line. I think the shoes are a great price and quality. Definitely a go-to brand if you want on trend designer styles at a reasonable price. I should have a post about the new additions to the line soon, so stay tuned for that!

Finders Keepers: New Baxter Romper

Just found this romper on Nasty Gal and had to make a post about it! I cannot get over how beautiful it is. Check it out:

It is definitely a romper that can work for many occasions. The loose fit and light fabric makes it super comfortable for all seasons, even winter in a warmer climate! The tie waste adds shape and you could even add an embellished belt over the tie for added flair. It also has somewhat of a plunging neckline and can be worn with nothing underneath or a black bustier for a sexier look or even a camisole for a more put together look. And I am obsessed with the pattern; it is very detailed and intricate and carries to the back of the romper.

If you also like the romper, leave me a comment below! Also, if you are interested in buying it, click here to see it on nastygal.com. It is a tad bit more expensive, at $170 but if you are willing it is a great purchase!

Wish List: Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers is a ridiculously cool brand that is always on my wish list. The style is on trend and modern with interesting design and intricate details. I can't explain it nearly as well as the description on Revolve

Designed by Julia Ritorto, Finders Keepers has created the ultimate young fashion forward womenswear label aimed at designer conscious consumers at affordable prices and has quickly become a favorite for Hollywood celebrities.

I just can't get enough of this brand. See my favorites from REVOLVEclothing.com below.

The Dream People Dress with a back cutout and contemporary structured shoulders.

The Mad House Dress is so cool with a geometric white floral pattern and paneled detailing.

The Let Love Rule Dress has a great shape and I love the Lake Tahoe print. The print can also be found on some of their other pieces which are equally gorgeous:

The Planet Waves Body Dress with beautiful geometric strapping in the front. The straps make a star shape almost like a pentagram which is very on trend this season.

The Eclipse Dress in Gold Shimmer may be the most simple but it is also my favorite of the group. I love the uneven hemline with the little black corners peaking out. The fabric is so gorgeous and elegant. Definitely a classy yet cool look.

The Tangled Secrets Dress. OMG that mesh V...

The Somerset Dress in Sherbert (the Navy is equally pretty) with lace overlay is so pretty and innocent yet the lining at the bodice has a sexy bondage feel.

And Lastly The Dr. Love Top which has another gorgeous geometric print and mesh paneling. The back is sooooo nice.

One of the main reasons I love Finders Keepers is for their gorgeous patterns and geometric details. They look so expensive and have an editorial feel while remaining wearable and affordable. To see my post on the importance of a good pattern click here. I focused mostly on dresses in this post but they also have a lot of really nice tops, skirts, rompers, etc. Check it all out at Revolve Clothing.
