Wish List: Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers is a ridiculously cool brand that is always on my wish list. The style is on trend and modern with interesting design and intricate details. I can't explain it nearly as well as the description on Revolve: 

Designed by Julia Ritorto, Finders Keepers has created the ultimate young fashion forward womenswear label aimed at designer conscious consumers at affordable prices and has quickly become a favorite for Hollywood celebrities.

The Dream People Dress with a back cutout and contemporary structured shoulders. 

The Mad House Dress is so cool with a geometric white floral pattern and paneled detailing.

The Let Love Rule Dress has a great shape and I love the Lake Tahoe print. The print can also be found on some of their other pieces which are equally gorgeous:

The Planet Waves Body Dress with beautiful geometric strapping in the front. The straps make a star shape almost like a pentagram which is very on trend this season.

The Eclipse Dress in Gold Shimmer may be the most simple but it is also my favorite of the group. I love the uneven hemline with the little black corners peaking out. The fabric is so gorgeous and elegant. Definitely a classy yet cool look.

The Somerset Dress in Sherbert (the Navy is equally pretty) with lace overlay is so pretty and innocent yet the lining at the bodice has a sexy bondage feel.

And Lastly The Dr. Love Top which has another gorgeous geometric print and mesh paneling. The back is sooooo nice.

One of the main reasons I love Finders Keepers is for their gorgeous patterns and geometric details. They look so expensive and have an editorial feel while remaining wearable and affordable. The Lush Life Shorts by Nasty Gal are another cute staple for the summer. The vibrant print makes them so much fun and I can't say the crop top is half bad either. It's the Under Wraps Bustier, also available at Nasty Gal.

It's All in the Print

A print is so important to the appearance of the quality and price of your clothing. To me, the quality of the fabric often is not an issue when I'm shopping for clothes, it's the quality and appeal of the print that makes all the difference. Prints that look like they came out of the sale bin at Kohl's or TJ Maxx drive me nuts. Now, I am not saying that you can't find a beautiful print at Kohl's because you can and there are lots of designer prints that I hate and look cheap. For this post, I am going to focus on dresses. Here are some examples of my opinion of cheap looking dress prints:

Besides the poor shapes of these dresses, in my opinion the prints are cheap and tacky. I especially hate the technique they used on the first dress of using folds to create the white gaps in the print. On the other hand, a good print is one that looks like it took time to create. A print is a piece of art in its self and there are specific employees at clothing companies whose jobs are to make beautiful prints. Examples of these are below:

A Mara Hoffman dress from Bona Drag. Mara Hoffman's designs are the perfect examples of expensive prints; they are to die for. Here is a closer look of this print:

Now you may be thinking, "but you didn't show any affordable dresses with expensive looking prints!" Don't worry, I'm getting there:

The print on this Minkpink dress from Nasty Gal reminds me a lot of Mara Hoffman's, but at a much more affordable cost.

The Blooms Day Dress from Nasty Gal is reminiscent of the Valentino dress, but in a different color scheme.

I love this Pieced Mesh Dress by Tallow in mali palms print from Free People. The pattern is so light and delicate.

Also not a dress, but I love the blue toned geometric print on this Sabo Skirt romper. 

I hope you enjoyed this post about prints. Again, this is just my opinion and prints that I like or don't like will definitely not be equal to everyone's tastes. I hope you learned a little more about my style from this post too!

LOOKBOOK update: vol. 10

Been a while since I've done one of these! And it shows; I have 546 looks to get through haha you might need a bit of patience to get through this post because it will probably be quite long. I promise it's worth it though, because there are so many great outfits and pieces in the pictures below!

This is a festival look that I would definitely wear outside of festivals. Flower crowns get kinda tricky in everyday wear because they can seem costumey especially when they're this large. I love the black and yellow together, though. And the Jeffrey Campells tie everything together perfectly!

Shorty McShort's Shorts

Just a random, one-picture post here because I wanted to share this top. I got it from NastyGal on super sale a couple months ago. I would have typically got it in a small but I settled for a medium. Therefore, it is somewhat large and billowy so I tied it in the front to make it more fitted. Worn this way it is perfect for summer and going out to lunch with friends.
